What are the main equipments in a sand and gravel production line?

The equipments in a sand and gravel production line consist of main equipment, auxiliary equipment, and automated equipment. Today, we will focus on the main equipment and auxiliary equipment.

1.Main Equipments

Main equipment generally includes crushing equipment, screening equipment, powder separation equipment, sand making equipment, and washing equipment.

For primary crushing, commonly used equipment includes gyratory crushers and jaw crushers, with some applications utilizing hammer crushers or impact crushers. Gyratory crushers have low power consumption, do not require feeding equipment, and have lower maintenance costs, but they require higher civil engineering foundation investments and are suitable for production lines with capacities exceeding 1,000 tph; jaw crushers are suitable for crushing various types of rock with production capacities below 1,000 tph;

Medium crushing uses impact crushers or cone crushers. Cone crushers have high output and are primarily used in large-scale stone plants; impact crushers use impact crushing, where materials collide with each other, resulting in good particle shape, and are primarily used in industries such as construction materials and construction where strict requirements are placed on sand and gravel aggregates. Small-scale stone plants often opt for impact crushers.

Fine crushing and shaping commonly use high-efficiency impact crushers and high-pressure roller mills.

The finished sand and gravel produced by sand-making machines are covered with a certain amount of dust and cannot be directly used in infrastructure construction. As the final process in the production line, sand washers can wash the finished sand and gravel, enhancing the utilization value of the sand and gravel aggregates.

2.Auxiliary Equipment

Auxiliary equipment generally includes feeding equipment, conveying equipment, dust removal equipment, metering equipment, and maintenance equipment. These are indispensable components of the production line, each performing specific functions to contribute to the production process. Vibrating feeders are responsible for feeding materials to crushing and sand-making machines, vibrating screens are responsible for screening processed mineral particles, and conveyors are responsible for material flow between various pieces of equipment.

In fact, a sand-making production line includes the following equipment: vibrating feeder, jaw crusher, impact crusher/cone crusher, sand-making machine, vibrating screener, sand washer (if required, also sand recovery machine and other dust collection equipment) etc.
